Andy Lagis is a Chicago recording engineer/producer and a graduate from Columbia College Chicago, IL. His passion for playing music began at a young age. In high school Andy played the marching band during the day, and at night he played at venues around the city. He went on to receive a bachelors degree from Columbia College, where he studied audio production. In 1999 he began interning and working at local Chicago recording studios where he gained experience and an understanding of the differences between music production and post production. At the age of 21 Andy received a different opportunity in the music industry where he got offered his first position as a touring drum technician. After having worked in the recording industry for a few years, this was another opportunity to see yet another side of the music industry. This venture led to future recording projects where Andy had the chance to work on pre-production recording sessions and full length recordings with the bands Mudvayne, Hell Yeah and Anthrax.
Currently Andy works as a freelance recording engineer/producer and runs a small recording studio in the heart of Chicago’s Ukranian Village. As a freelancer he works with a variety of clients and genres. In his most recent achievements Andy was credited for producing the lead title track to the Emmy nominated documentary “A Future For Meher”. He was also credited as assistant engineer on Anthraxs 2011 album Worship Music as well as additional engineer on Anthrax’s 2016 release For All Kings.
